SB Shane Barron Start a ticket

Plant City · forty years on metal

Tell me the job.
I build the site.

WordPress or Laravel. Pick the kind of site and the extras. The ticket lands on my desk. I write back a number.

How a ticket works

This site is the conversation.

You describe the job in language a shop can build from. I read it. I write back with a quote — scope, stack, and a number. Nothing is a price until I stamp it.

Kind

Brochure, store, portal, church, custom app — they are different machines. Pick the closest. The encyclopedia is there so you are not guessing.

Machine

WordPress if humans write pages. Laravel if the important thing is a record with rules. Unsure is a legal answer. I will pick and say why.

Extras

Booking, payments, logins, two languages, a migration — name them. Shop weight moves. I still write the dollar figure. The bars are not a price.

Kinds

What are you actually commissioning?

Click a kind to start a ticket with it already stamped. Read the long versions if the names are fuzzy.

01

Calling card

Five to eight pages that say who you are, what you do, and how to write you. The site most businesses actually need.

leans WordPress
02

Shop window

A calling card with a living journal or newsroom — the business talks in public on a cadence.

leans WordPress
03

Magazine

Many authors, issues or sections, a home that behaves like a cover, not a landing page.

leans WordPress
04

Portfolio

A designed index of work — case studies, not a dump of thumbnails.

either machine
05

Venue / restaurant

Menus, hours, location, events. The site has to be right on Saturday night, on a phone, in a hurry.

leans WordPress
06

Bookable service

People pick a time (or a service) and it lands on a calendar — yours, not Calendly rent forever.

either machine
07

Membership

Accounts, plans, content or tools only members see. Recurring money, which means recurring edge cases.

either machine
08

Store

You sell things with a cart, tax, shipping or pickup, and a receipt. Standard commerce.

leans WordPress
09

Marketplace

Buyers and sellers, both with accounts. You are the square, not the shop.

leans Laravel
10

Directory

Listings, filters, a map or a fat search. The query is the product.

either machine
11

Client portal

Your clients (or staff) sign in and do the work there — files, status, invoices, messages — instead of a shared inbox.

leans Laravel
12

Learning

Lessons, progress, maybe cohorts and certificates. Teaching as a product.

either machine
13

Church / nonprofit

Sermons or updates, events, a staff directory, a way to give. Volunteers will touch it.

leans WordPress
14

Real estate

Properties, search, inquiry. MLS/IDX if you are on the board — that pipe runs the show.

either machine
15

Custom application

The site is not a site. It is software for a process only you have.
