Guide
How much does a small business website cost?
The short answer: most small business websites we build run $450 to $800, one fixed price agreed in writing before we start. That covers a site designed for your business, working on phones, with a contact or quote form, the Google basics, and security set up. Stores, booking systems and custom features cost more.
What changes the price
- How many pages and how much writing. A five-page site for a handyman is different from forty pages of programs for a nonprofit.
- Whether people pay or book on the site. An online store, deposits, or a booking calendar adds real work and testing.
- Connections to tools you already use. Scheduling apps, payment systems, client portals and email lists each need to be wired in.
- Moving an old site. Keeping every page and link from an older site takes care, especially on frozen or outdated themes.
- Custom features. A calculator, a members area, or anything no plugin does well gets priced on its own.
What every small business site should include
- A design made for your business, not a template with your logo on it
- A layout that works on every phone, since many of your visitors will arrive on one
- A clear way to reach you: a form that emails you, your email, or both
- Page titles, descriptions and a sitemap, so Google can find and describe you
- Security set up before launch, and a secure (https) address
- A way for you to edit your own text and photos

Questions to ask before you hire anyone
- Is the price fixed, and is it in writing before work starts?
- How many rounds of changes do I get?
- Will I own the domain, the site and the content?
- Can I edit the site myself after launch?
- Who fixes it if something breaks next year, and what does that cost?
- Can I see sites you have built, live, not just pictures?
Our answers: yes, unlimited until you're happy, yes, yes, we do for free in the code we built, and yes, test-drive them here.
